Shift rods, Ford 2000 gearbox for ElanS3

I?ve acquired a spare gearbox and have found the shift forks appear to be incorrect for the box.Attached is a photo
of the rods as found installed.
The slots for the gear selector are obviously (by my estimation) not oriented correctly. I have no convenient other gearbox for comparison but my photo doesn?t look like the manual sketches.
Can anyone come up with an explanation for this? The selector forks appear to be correctly located but the rod ends are not aligned as required.
If the rods are incorrect (eg from another Ford gb) does anyone have a surplus set of shift rods?
PS: I?m also looking for a 6-bolt flywheel.

They certainly look like the wrong set for top mounted gear lever but treat with caution as you can?t fit the reverse gear select rod like that. It seems the cross plungers, top front, may well be missing. They stop 2 gears being selected at the same time.

They are 3 rail with "cast-in" remote gearbox shift rails - IE the gear lever is at the rear of the gearbox just above the output shaft (as found in proper 2000e type gearboxes). You need cortina 1200 shift rails for an Elan gearbox.

Thanks for the information. Been studying the D. Bean catalog info on differences between gearboxes. Conclude that this gearbox couldn't have come from any Lotus but the box is a semi-close ratio Ford.
Does anyone have a set of shift rods? Almost all the 60's Lotus and Cortina's seem to have used the same shift rods.

Tom,
Here is a picture of a Lotus/Cortina box with the shifters, and you can see the reverse lockout toggle lever on the mating part that of course mates with the dropped shifter.
Looks like yours are just installed incorrectly, but is the casting the same as the Lotus versions? Could you post a shot of the whole tranny?
I may have a set or partial set of shifter rods, will have to hunt for those, also have the wide ratio tranny pictured, but also a complete semi close tranny that has never been apart. I am in Orillia Ont. Are you ever down Toronto way?

You indicated that you also needed a flywheel. I have a 6-bolt flywheel from my 69 S4. I replaced it with a lightweight Fidanza one.
PM me if interested.
