Early gearbox - machining to first motion shaft

I have an early semi-CR gearbox that has been refurbished but I gather the first motion shaft needs to be machined to mate with my later engine - can anyone advise and also maybe recommend someone who can do this?

I am based in the Midlands, UK.

All you need to do is fit the matching crank pilot bearing to suit the input shaft you have as far as I am aware.

I think this is the type of bearing that needs replaced to suit the size of shaft?

A good tip I got, and it works, pack the old bearing with grease and tap an object the same diameter as the hole in to the grease ( I used a valve grinder - the rubber sucker fitted great) the hydraulic pressure pushes the bush out.

I'm 90% sure that all semi-close input gears (2.97:1 first gear ratio) should already be sized to suit the 6 bolt crank with needle roller bearing (smaller diameter). They were introduced in 1967 at the same time as six bolt cranks were adopted on all pre-crossflow motors
