Gearbox selector ring thickness

Hello all, I just finished rebuilding my 4 speed gearbox on my S4. I now want to install the threaded cup that is holding the selector shaft ball. I understand that there needs to be a ring betwen the base plate and the threaded cup/holder. Does anybody know the thickness of this ring. I believe the thickness is critical to a correct reverse operation. Thanks in advance.

You should only have to use the paper gasket supplied with your gasket set. I just checked mine which measures 0.025 inches thick and I can select reverse with no problems. There was a thread here not long ago in which people reported quite a range in the thickness of this gasket. I am not sure that the makers of replacement gaskets pay much attention to the correct thickness of this item.
