Question on bell housing

Burton is selling these bell housings and the write up claims to fit a TC. I am not clear on what transmission then attaches to the Bell. Is it from another vehicle with a five speed? Sorry if I am dense but, like a five year old, I need things made simple. If my P2 only had a five speed..........maybe if I Jeannie Blink......it will come true.

It'll fit the 4 speed rocket box and type 9 5 speed, but not the Bullet box as fitted to Elans.
Where it mentions that it fits a twincam it means that the bell housing will fit to a twincam BLOCK which would enable you to run rocket box/type 9 gearboxes (rocket boxes were found in the Mk2 Escort RS2000'S etc, and the type 9 found in Sierra's etc).
Ford based engines can be fitted to many gearboxes as the bolt patterns are the same. Cosworth / Zetec / pinto / crossflow / pre-crossflow / lotus blocks can be bolted to Rocket/Bullet/type 9, Cosworth T5 (originally a U.S. Mustang box), and standard Cortina box etc etc. Getting the starters etc to mesh with the flywheel isn't as straightforward but that can be worked around.
That's why Ford based stuff is the best to work with in my opinion - so many possibilities.
Have a look at the tuning guides on Burton's website (link below) - it explains all the gearboxes/engines etc. Very useful!

This bell housing adapts English Ford single rail gearboxes including the T-9 five speed to the Twin Cam and other Ford Kent block. The dual starter mount may make use in an Elan or +2 difficult with possible fouling with the exhaust system. A concentric clutch slave cylinder is also likely necessary.
