Different woods used on dash

PostPost by: bluesbrother30 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:54 pm

Off to a wood shop over the weekend. How about some pics of different woods used on your cars?? Most I have seen are Burl or Mahogany. Would like to be able to give the shop some examples when I go in. Thanks guys!!

Mike, mine, like Brian's, is African Rosewood and probably from the same guy in San Jose, CA.

Mike, I'm going on a back road NOBBC group drive, stopping for lunch at one of the local wineries. I will miss the Wine Country Xmas sale.
Here is the original walnut dash that came with the car after I refinished it.

This is Burr Oak on my +2 dash. Over the last two years it has darkened slightly and looks even better now.

PS fully recommend these people in the UK who supplied my dash. Some good pics of different veneers on the website, but even better to visit their factory and choose your own. Nice people to do business with. (no connection!)
