My Sprint has a factory fitted heated rear screen, since I've had it it's never been very effective it does work but takes a long time to clear mist and not very well.
I checked the power supply and thats full battery voltage + when alternator kicks in, the resistance through the element is + - 7 ohms (nothing in the great scheme of things) has anyone else got one and how effective is it?

The factory original heated rear screen in my Plus 2 is similarily very slow to demist. The best that can be said for it is that once its clear it can keep it that way and stop it misting up again.

Compared to modern demisters the total number of heater lines is few and their spacing wide apart so the amount of heat into the screen is limited. I presume this was intentional to not overload the struggling Lucas electrics too much !!

I did hear a rumour that Spyder are looking to remanufacture the Plus 2 rear screens at a reasonable price - presumably with a more modern heating element.

Might be worth a call to them if you're unhappy with the performance of your screen.
