RHD Handbrake cable length

I'm converting a LHD handbrake cable to fit in a RHD car.
Does anyone know the amount to cut off of the wire?
Should it be cut from the back or front end? A dimension from the outside of the swage fitting would be a great help. I reckon about 2"?
I'm using a local sailboat rigging shop to swage a new fitting on.

I'm reasonably confident that LHD and RHD handbrake cables are the same part number / length. Have you checked the parts manual to see if there are two?

The minor routing difference - diagonally across or straight down the chassis backbone - can be accommodated in the adjuster.

Hi Nick,
Maybe the original had different numbers? I got this from Ray.
It's routed correctly and it has slack in it even with the adjusters maxed out.
There's a whole topic on this on the Forum, I've spoke to Sue about a new one but I'm still waiting.
So in the meantime I have the cable that was on the car when I got it and I'll have that cut.
The P.O. had a cable adjuster installed between the front adjuster and where the cable enters the tunnel, see the attached photo.

Yeah, I remember some old threads about the length of the cable - being slightly too long. Presumably for both LHD and RHD! I've never had any trouble with the adjustment for mine but have no idea how long it is. :-)

Is the swivel at the back turned fully back.
Also the tie rods to the calipers.
Some owners have fitted adjustible tie rods.

Thanks, I have the stock rods, everything else is adjusted but I'll double check the swivel.
Between where the cable exits the frame and the bell crank there's enough slack in the cable to make about a 2"circle
