headlamp pod buffer rubbers

The drivers side headlamp on my plus2 s130 has rubber bump stops in the up and down positions, but the passenger side, which has the micro switches appears to have no rubbe bump stops -and the surface of the pod which is exposed when the headlight is up, has crazing from the unbuffered impact. When I tried to trial fit a rubber stop over the nut next to the upper micro switch, the action of the switch is impeded. What should be on the micro switch headlamp to soften the up, and especially the down blow..?

I glued a thick piece of rubber onto the back of the headlight pod and adjusted the microswitch position to suit. Hopefully this will prevent/lessen the crazing.

Use a piece of high density foam, which comes in different thicknesses.
