Can anyone recommend a body shop to repair, restore and repaint an Elan in the Mid Atlantic area?
Not sure I want to use a regular body shop for this. just curious if there are any Lotus specialists.
thanks
Alex.

Im in rhode island and I used a boat composite shop to repair my 65 s2. They did a beautiful job including paint. Doors fit better than new.

Not quite the mid Atlantic but if North Carolina is an option I can recommend an outfit there, they did a really nice job on a 26 GTS body but … not in expensive.

I'm in northern Maryland and am planning on taking our +2 with its cracked driver side door (at bottom hinge) to Treasured Motorcars in PA. They apparently have good experience with fiberglass work and painting. Haven't used them yet so can't vouch for them personally, but have talked with them on the phone a couple of times, and they come well recommended from others. They aren't Lotus specialists, but have worked with quite a lot of Lotuses in the past and specialize in vintage autos.

Evans Leinbach in Salisbury, NC is Lotus expert
I've been to his shop and talked to him at Lotus gatherings. Excellent resource.
I have his number if you're interested.

Treasured Motors has changes a lot over the years. When Geoffrey owned it, it was great. When Allison inherited it, she hired a manager who was awful. I had agreed a $10k paint job. When I went to pick it up, he tried to charge me $23k and said it took longer than he thought. We settled in the middle. The work was good, but the lotus yellow is brighter than my original lotus yellow. The manager has left and I have never been back. Message me if you want to discuss. All the best, Dan
