Plus 2 outer window seal

Should the outer lip of this seal, marked red, go over the chrome trim strip or does that chrome strip sit on/over the seal?
Thanks

on mine, which I believe correct, the seal sits on top of the "chrome" strip. I had one poor attempt (mainly the cutting around the quarterlight went wrong), where the seal was sitting too low and this meant the seal would collect water. were it not for the other issue I guess I would have just put a fresh set of holes in.
Quite tricky to get the "chrome" strip to fit properly at the door front, without marking the paint (I used a bit of tape).

Thanks Adrian, I guessed that was probably the case. When I fitted the seal, I pushed it all the way down so that it sat on the glass fibre (vertical) lip. However I’m wondering if it should not be pushed to far down as when I now fit the seal over the chrome strip there is a sort of channel in the rubber between the outer edge of that seal (as it sits over the chrome strip) and the glass. I think my clips are a bit low because I can’t get the strip to clip on. The clips in the photo are actually the old ones I took off, the new ones as supplied by Paul Matty are slightly different in design and don’t retain the chrome as well……nothing is ever easy when rebuilding a Lotus!
