Hi Guys; what is the best way to fit front and rear screen, put new rubber on screens 1st or put rubber on aperture then fit glass?

I put the rubber seal on the front screen, rope around the outside “gully” then pull the screen into the car...

For the rear screen, I went rubber on frame and glass into rubber.

Do it like it says in the Lotus workshop manual - rubber on body, glass into rubber, locking chrome strip.
Can be done by one person alone.

I did mine as above. rubber on body glass into rubber then chrome insert. Get a tool for the chrome insert or you will be there all year. I tucked the glass into the bottom first then worked around it with an old credit card and a couple of plastic picks. In my experience they flop about all over the place until the strip goes in and tightens it all up.
That being said who knows what had happened to mine over the years.

Yet the best quality one would have my preference, as the pressure and precise angle to use it effectively can make the lock insertion a somewhat hazardous and strenuous job. Have soapy water at the ready and don't try to rush it.

Same method I used for both front and rear glass a couple of years ago. No prior experience and it went really well. I think that putting the rubber onto the glass works better when you have a seamless rubber, but when it's just a long piece with ends the advice I've read is to put it on the body first, so that you can cram as much of it on as possible to allow for future shrinkage.
