Early Plus 2 ashtrays

Leaving aside those who fail to see the utility of a multitude of ashtrays, those fitted to such as my car are easily
restored.
I made some new handles, the facia only needs a new coat of the correct finish and the body can be re cad plated.
Well, can be here at least.
Has anyone addressed however the manufacture or sourcing of the spring and roller without which it rather becomes a static display?
