"Christopher Neil alternative Lotus Elan Chassis"

Never heard of these before - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Christopher-Neil-alternative-Lotus-Elan-Chassis-/373087161546?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

"Christopher Neil Lotus Elan Chassis, these were made by Christopher Neil as an alternative to the OE Lotus Elan chassis. Suitable for competition use only. Collection from Bromsgrove. Alternatively, if you supply the crate and the courier we can pack it and help with the loading. "

Looks to be very close to the Lotus design? Looks to be in excellent condition as well, wonder why it is being changed?

Looks like a stiffened (26R mods?) chassis. Wonder why they say it's only suitable for competition?

Nothing that I can see like on the 26R type chassis,
However the front turrets are nothing like a standard chassis as the are ope at the bottom and the Vacuum tank closing plates are at 90 degrees on the usual 45 degrees

I note the vendor is Paul Matty Cars, so it should be right.

I'm not sure what that means...

I'd be very wary of anything manufactured by "Christopher Neil" from that era. I had some insurance work done by them way back when... never again.

He is suggesting that as the vendor is Paul Matty Sports Cars it is likely to be as described, with no mis-selling. (Unless there is a hint of sarcasm because you have had poor dealings in the past with this vendor?)
