Does anyone know what vehicle the sill chrome trim clips were from on the S130 1973/4? Just about to paint the car and want to have everything ready when we are done. Got the door trim ones, just need these.
Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob,not sure on the donor car,but S J Sportscars in Devon (no affiliation) has had the sill trim remanufactured and also sells the clips to hold it on.Both types plastic and metal clips, all sold separately.Steve
According to sj latest catalogue, plastic clips are 54p each and metal are 52p each.

Cheers for that guys. Thought they may be a generic car clip, but obviously a Lotus special. Sad, that means they will be expensive. Have four of the old ones in a bag of bits that came with the car. May put those at each end and use double sided trim tape for the rest. Only a user, not concourse. Thanks again for the info. :D

I use the rivet-on round ones sold by Moss for the MG Midget. Although the trim is slightly different in cross section, it is the same width and where it clips on it is the same profile. They work a treat and are much easier to use than the nasty, sharp Lotus type. Non-original, of course so no good for 100 points concours aspirants.

Thanks again for your info. ,will see what we decide to do. 100 points concourse aspirants should be shot at dawn. Tempted to put a yellow skunk stripe accross the centre of the car to really mess with their heads. Will post some pics when we get it painted. Just trying to button up all the trim etc. first. Cheers, Rob :D

Hi Alan,
Any idea where to get the end bungs from?....none of the usual vendors seem to have them.

Sorry but i don't. I have owned 3 different +2s in the past and i was lucky they all had the Bungs.
I suggest after you have fitted the Trims to pump in Black Silicone. Put Masking tape to protect paint. You can use a mastic gun to fill a Syringe. Then pump in with Syringe, then spit on your finger and dab it smooth.
I do that to seal around Cables in Bulkhead works very well.

Sill trim clips again!! Does anyone know if our later +2 1974, should have plastic trim clips? It seems very odd that the previous owner, sadly no longer with us, had kept every other clip and part except these. If they were plastic, which I suspect they were, he would not be able to remove them without breaking them and that would perhaps explain why they are not in the box? The holes in the sill are certainly not from an 1/8" pop rivet, way too big. The firm we get our classic stuff from reckon they they may have something to fit if we measure the gap in the trim. A three leg clip similar to quite a lot of Austin cars. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers, Rob
