Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Here is what I removed all those years ago. There are no markings anywhere on the tank or bracket although it looks like it was painted at some point so if there was a label stuck on it isn’t there any more.

Any idea what the tank came from - it doesn’t look like a 1950s or 1960s Ford unit.

It seems that vac tanks were not originally fitted to production cars by Lotus. The tanks that were fitted years later when the cross member failed or am I mistaken?

I suspect that it is the case that production cars were not fitted with separate tanks but as with everything Lotus there is always that slight level of doubt.......

But has anybody seen an actual production S1 with a factory fitted tank?
