Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Hi

I want to paint my elan s3 dhc in an original blue colour. I have three alternatives:

- Medici Blue
- Wedgewood Blue
- French Blue

I made some paint samples. Which should I choose?

I have exactly the same problem....French is my current favorite but would love to see all 3 side by side.

Wedgwood.... I went cirrus white... wish I had gone wedgwood... going to paint my next project wedgwood blue

Personally, I couldn't be unhappy with blue. Any blue. Oh, I know, I do like some better than others, but still... John

Diego, where did you get the paint samples from? I haven't found a supplier of samples local to me.

I bought in an Autonexa (original reference) shop the paint and made the samples...

I'm planning for my 3rd Elan to be late 60s to mid-70s Triumph Valencia Blue. I painted my bug-eyed Sprite that color way back then and also planning that the Modus formula car will be same blue. How about orange wheels and orange bumpers on the Elan.

This is Medici Blue.

I went through the same question, which blue, before picking French.
I found photos on the web did not match what I saw on cars. Medici was much lighter in life than in photos.
But as you have the paint samples just go with which one you like.

David can you put some photos of your car? It will be great if people put photos of their blue elans...
