peg tubes

Not the ones that drive wheels, but the ones of light twisted steel, perhaps wire coathanger pieces would suitable,
They are located (I think) by metal threads from the outside in at the top of the door jambs, at least on the Plus 2.
They then locate the tubes to which the hood lining is attached.
Does anyone have a photo of one, and what gauge of wire is required?
Regret that after much searching I am completely in the dark.
I can guess, but I would like the hood lining to remain above my head!
Regards
Bill

Thanks...and its a great site.
In fact that's where I got the name of the little jiggers!
But the illustration is a bit small, and he doesn't have any !
And am having fun while I am investigation; just putting oil in the engine
for the first time.

Bill

Not a great photo, and rotated 90 degrees for some reason, but one from my Elan FHC project. Looks to be a simple loop of wire around the rather long screw. All the screws were long like this, btw

That's the same as mine. Makes you wonder why they didn't just run the screws into the ends of the tubes.

If the cant rail fixings are the same as the Plus 2, hope this following may be of help.
The wire is 16 SWG / 0.064" / 1.62mm diameter.
Pictures confirm the rather odd shape with inch rule for reference. If you would like a dimensioned sketch, let me know and I will give it a go!

Thanks for your help.
I am in trouble again however for using "discussions" when I should have realised that "trim"
comes under "body/chassis/frame".
I promise to try harder.
Anyway, I could not work out why these attachments, at least in an early Plus 2 , are apparently tubes!
They simply hold up the tubes which run through pleats in the roof lining.
I'll know soon enough if what I have done is satisfactory!
I shall attach a photo showing the self tapper, the fitting into which it screws and the "pegs" made from
wire about 2mm in diameter.
I forgot to tell my wife where some of her wire coat hangers have gone!
