SEAT BACK FITTING.pdf

Hello All
I am about to get my '68 +2 seats re-upholstered. The rear panel is held on with metal fittings as shown in the attached photo. I have two questions.
1) How do I get them out without too much damage ?
2) Does anyone know of a source for these fittings?
Many thanks

Looks like a plastic rivet, can you push the centre pin in, then pull the rivet body out?

Thanks Phil but its not a plastic rivet - they are metal and it looks like quite a hard metal. I guess I could still try pushing the centre pin through and see what happens..?
I see quite a few modern fixings that all seem to be plastic but I've not seen a metal one like these elsewhere.
Thanks again

Baggy, I thought my car (?69 Federal) had plastic rivets that look awfully similar. I removed them by pushing the centre stud through with a wire or pick. Unfortunately the little studs can get lost in the process. I purchased dimentional plastic rod from the local hobby shop to make up replacement studs.

About 1/3 of the fasteners got damaged during the whole process. Have replaced with non stock ?tree? type fasteners. Have it on the list to source correct looking replacements but have not done it yet. Will take a look today. Let us know if you find something. Bet Susan Miller may have something?

EDIT

Found these by Dorman that look similar to the plastic ones on my car. Have not checked dimensions, but they probably come in different sizes.

OK guys - red face time ! They are plastic rivets !
Having poked them with a screw driver I was totally convinced they were metallic.
Knocked the centre pin through and lo and behold out comes a plastic rivet ,
I feel a right twit,,,,,,,,,
Thanks for all your suggestions.

Just to say thanks for the info. Last job in my driver's seat repairs is to sort the rear cover out. So useful to know the type of father originally used.
