I know there was an earlier topic posted about the possibility of changing from the mechanically fastened windscreen to the bonded type http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=42888&start=,
but I am considering the opposite. Has anyone done this? Does the opening need to be modified.

Yes modifications needed as far as I recall. There is no lip on the bottom of the screen surround for one thing (on a bonded screen car). Someone will be along shortly to post a link... :)

Mate of mine did the mod on his race car +2. Bit of a pain to bond in the lower lip. Rubber type looks very much like the rear when fitted, with a deep recess look. He still found that he had to fit the rubber and filler strip in two pieces the same as the rear one as the rubber won't go round the sharp bend at the base. Also less chance of cracking the laminated screen. He wasn't too bothered what it looked like as it's a competition car. Unfortunately he did not take any pics of the install. on the mods he did. Wanted an easier way to change it than the bond in arrangement I'm about to do on my +2 S130. If my car was not a show car I would be altering it without doubt. Rob
