Have been re-building my plus 2 from box's of bits. Just seen a picture of a plus 2 with the boot release in a recss on the drivers side door pillar. And yes mine has this recess but an online search for the cable shows it only to be about 1.5 m long. I have the latches I think but a cable of 1.5m would be too short. What am I missing.

thanks

1.5M sounds about right for late model cars. Runs from door jamb, through wheel arch and to lever on edge of the rear metal frame in corner of boot.

But seems thee was two different set ups and longer cable maybe needed for early version. See parts manual:

Thanks it seems I am missing the metal bracket and the linkage. More metal work and fabrication then.

Thanks

Hi
can anyone help with the my boot lock problem.I have a 1972 Plus 2 130s.In the parts manual as mentioned by Cwollen i have the top set up with the cable. When looking at this the tap plate number 8 in the diagram seems to be showing with the welded nuts facing upwards,is this correct.Does anyone have a photograph of the same set up from their Plus 2.
Bought the car last year and the boot keeps coming open, when i looked closely at the mechanism it has been bodged, does'nt slide correctly and i'm thinking it has been put together wrong.
Any advice is welcome
Cheers
Nick

It is correct i believe.
The top nuts, welded are fixed. This top plate should not move.

Many thanks for that.Should the plate be underneath the sliding lock as in the picture or above.
