So, I've pulled the door card off and the attached covering to the door and saw this
number written on the door. I'm fairly certain the door is original to the car, only because
the car is originally BRG and so is the door, in areas where a re-painter wouldn't go.

The car's VIN is 5727

The door also has the window switch hole but my window switches on in the dash.
Does anyone know the significance of this number?

1428 is most likely the body number. Also may be on the underside of the roof, hidden by the headliner.

If the door is original to the body, the same number should be on the firewall near the starter solenoid. It will look like an embossed label.

Aha! Thanks. I'll check it.

And check the inside of the other door too. The body number in the firewall area is what we used to call a Dyno labeler.

I just checked and the other door also has this number which is the same as the dymo label on the
firewall. Thanks guys!
