I was wondering if someone could post a nice close up of the material (oem) on an S3 door card? Is the
recess area material the same as the rest of the card covering?

Yes, Greg, the material is same. I have my Coupe's doors apart, so if you don't have any other offers, I could loan you one of my recessed pieces. But, at least for time being, I will reuse the upholstery. I'm thinking about doing the seats and doors in leather, but my checkbook may need a break before spending for that.

Did you ever get your brake issue fixed? I'm still stumbling w/ my camera and windows 10.

Thanks Roger. My entire interior was done in brown/oatmeal many years ago and has not
aged well, along with not liking brown. I'm slowly putting it all back to black. I currently have
some buffalo hide type of material that I'll probably use, barring any pics of something different
that should be there.

Brake issue is a stumper. Air is pretty much out of the system but still a long pedal. I think
it was you who suggested perhaps the grooves of the calipers weren't perfectly clean and the
seal could be sitting proud is some areas. I suspect this to be a cause in my rear calipers.
Taking them apart again is plan....C.

Later cars had the basket weave type inserts, earlier cars like yours indeed had matching material.

The material must be fairly common stuff, some years ago when I had an upholstery guy recover mine, he had it on hand.

You might check w/ Famous Frank who does all the special pieces for type 26's. The seats are the same and he sells a replacement seat cover . I'll bet he has the fabric in bulk to do door cards.
