Headlights up
grill out
chunk of plywood or something to stop the spring from shooting through the nose

remove the nut

decide which hand is sacrificial and put it between the plywood and the spring and slide the spring of the bolt

not really that bad

Good advice,I have some thick carpet also to be sure,I am right handed so will use left hand just in case, only bit I did was grill out a bast...? To put back I seem to remember and headlights up they only stay down for about 5 hours this is what caused car cover to come off at front in wind, going to do mod with Mazda headlamp motor on forum, need to find out if I use right hand side motor or left decisions decisions

You can use either Mazda motor, just depends on which way you want the manual knob to point. With bonnet off and grill out access is not too bad and with the headlamp pods up the spring is not under too much force. I refitted both springs when I fitted the Mazda motor to minimise the load on the motor, one to each pod. Needs a good strong motor mount as the motor is quite heavy and gets a good shaking around. Mind your fingers when setting up the motor linkage, it?s fast and powerful and if the springs don?t get you, it will and it?s much nastier than the springs!

O.K., What i read is this is not about a vacuum pod, but is about converting the headlight pods to electricity.

Is there an article somewhere about converting the vacuum system to electricity?
If so is the system for the early double pod, or the later single pod system?

Thanks for your help.

look In the Technical Mods section, there is currently a discussion going on about using Mazda electric motors. Scroll through this topic and there are links to detailed descriptions on this conversion
