S2 Door panel

Hi
Help required 1965 Elan S2 interior door panel. Could someone please measure the height of the lower vertical door panel.
I?ve tried to scale from various photos but getting a dimension anywhere between 4 3/4 inches and 5 ? inches.
I know the height is determined by door extension pieces, could you state whether the piece is parallel along its length.
Many thanks
Pete

Just measured mine and it's exactly 5". I assume that by the door extension piece you mean the black GRP moulding, if so then yes, its bottom edge is parallel. Hope that helps

Geoffers71 Thank you for your response.
My problem is. I?ve mocked up the lower panel nominally 5 inches high and fitted to the door.
At the rear of the door I?ve aligned the top edge of the panel to the lower edge of the chrome piece that holds the
door lock.
At the front of the door I?ve mounted the panel using the existing holes on the door which are 4 inches apart
vertically so holes in the panel are ? inch in from the upper and lower edge of the door panel.
So equally spaced which looks fine but is this correct.
When I close the door the gap between the edge of the panel and the edge of the body is ? inch at the rear of the
door rising to ? inches at the front of the door.
This is why I wondered if the lower panel was tapered, not parallel.
I could correct this by laying the panel over the lower edge of the chrome piece that holds the door lock, but
wouldn?t look right.
I hope this makes sense.

Peter, If you look up my S2 restoration thread - " Restoration if S2 Elan EOK" on pages 12 and 13 there are pictures and description of the rebuild of the inside door trim that you might find useful.
