Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

When I removed the 2 long chrome trims that go on the roof I was not bothered about how they were attached -- small steel rusty slotted wood screws.
Is there a recognised "Lotus" restoration way of refitting the trims .I am guessing stainless or chrome self tappers.

I used stainless self tappers. Protect the roof adjacent to the screw with some masking tape, the screwdriver can mark the paint.

i also added a dab of sikaflex to each screw hole before fixing as was concerned about water getting into roof area behind.
