Central Locking

PostPost by: gavk » Sun Apr 22, 2018 6:19 pm

Good evening,

I've just been troubleshooting my central locking (I assume my car has a Spyder supplied CL kit) and I have found the following connector has snapped (see photo).

The piece is used to join two parallel rods, in this case the rod from the CL actuator to the door lock rod.

I'm sure this is a general piece of diy hardware but I'm not quite sure what I should Google for, has anyone seen one before or got a name?

Thanks

Gavin

Thanks for the speedy reply, a part specifically suited to a universal CL kit then, I'll look into it and contact hawk if I have no luck, thanks.

Yes. Other kits have similar clamps but the Hawk one looks identical to yours.

You can possibly use two sections of a 30 amp electrical connector strip to perform that function.

Bill

Thanks for the tip, I was racking my brains trying to think of a similar solution.

At its simplest I'm sure two small pieces of plate(one either side of rods) with a bolt between them could be used to clamp the rods together.

After a quick look on eBay it seems I can get a whole central locking kit including actuator and rod clamp for under ?3!!! Seems a waste when I don't need the actuator...

Thanks again
