Elan Sprint FHC trimming the front pillars

Hello friends
Im just looking at refitting the front screen pillar trims in my sprint FHC. I think that one edge of the trim needs to fit under the screen rubber and the other edge under the door trim. The question is, what is the technique to use to get the trim under the screen rubber? Are there any dos and donts i must be aware of?
Regards
Bob

No particular tricks just usual patience to work under windscreen rubber first.

If original they'll be very brittle and will not take much bending without shattering. Hair dryer to warm them up may help.

Yes - having been in a box for decades they may not be the exact shape they need to be.

I don't think that I'd be gluing them in.

My screen is fitted, so ive got to get the trim under the screen rubber somehow. I guess its the screwdrive and fairy liquid!

You should not need fairy liquid, it would be counter productive in terms of holding it in place until you fit the door seal.
But yes some lever required, my preference is a domestic knife to open a greater lengthy at a time.
A certain amount of subterfuge usually required to ensure SWMBO not aware of dual use!

Buy yourself a cheap set of plastic lever tools! That way if the tool slips it won't damage the trim or worse, chip the screen when the knife point goes through the rubber!

Okay - not that i thought i was criticising the OP - my suggestions are:
Install dry after fitting screen without the use of glue.
