S3 glove box lock and handle

Attached are a couple of pics that show the glove box door in my S3 FHC, pre air flow. As you can
see, it's missing its lock and pull handle. I see the lock is available from Paul Matty, and maybe
others, but I can't find the handle. Is it readily available from somewhere? Keep looking on ebay?
What's its origin?

I got one from ebay about 6 months ago.
I can't recall the car it came from. A Cambridge or Rover, I don't remember. However when the dealer found it also fitted an Elan I noticed the price went up for the next one he advertised.

I think you may be right, I've found my original contact to a guy 'breaking Wolseley's':

Hi Keith,
Trouble is, when you say it's for an elan, that normally puts the price up! I suspect you'd have guessed the car from the pictures. The general belief is that chapman nicked it from the Vanden Plas range of BMC 1100/1300, but it could be Wolseley/Riley. The car is 1966 so must have been around that time. I'm really keen to get the exact one and not anything 'similar'.
Cheers
His contact details are in that email or:

any problems ring me on 07760 280869
He followed that up with:
Hi Graeme,
Payment wise i take Cheque, Postal Order, Paypal or Direct Bank Transfer {Bacs},
i actually deal with 2 Elan Specialists supplying them parts all the time,
you wouldnt believe what cars/models the parts have come off but i,ll keep that one to myself,
neither part has come off any model you mentioned sorry for teasing,
Regards Keith
So , although we are close, the exact model wasn't given away.

The pre-airflow coupe only had a handle and a snap catch, NO lock. I suppose the thinking must have been if you wanted your items to be secure, you'd lock the doors.
The S1,2,Coupe parts book shows the handle referred to (pg 122) on plate EL 32 and EL 34 as being a Ford part and I remember this being the same catch that was used on my Mk 1 Cortina.
Part #s listed are 113E 7006060 for the handle
and 113E 7006064 for the die-cast metal part of the snap catch
A couple of items above the handle is another Ford part, Retainer 113E 7006122 which must be the nylon part of the latch and the part that breaks.

If you wish to hold the parts in your hand, my FHC is apart in my garage, being restored. My Florida location is just a few hours south of you. Sorry I don't have a spare.

Roger, thanks for that info! I have a pic of the interior of this car, from, I'm guessing, the mid 80s that shows this
glove box. I've read some good threads here on which glove box SHOULD be on the car, like the piano
wire hinge type, with the rounded corners on the glove box door. I suppose the dash COULD have
been changed before the 80s, to the 'later' type, but for now, I'm just 'filling in the holes'.
I don't drive THAT fast. The FL border is a good 4+ hours south of me, let alone the rest of the state
Maybe I'll see you at Cleveland LOG

We had to find replacements for my friends 1966 DHC as they had suffered too badly from the passage of time to restore. We found exact replacements from an ADO16 Vanden Plas Princess glove box. Both the latch/lock & the handle were identical to the originals.
(Well, apart from their condition, having lived indoors all their life .)
Regards, Tim
