Hi
I'm looking for recommendations for products to clean the oatmeal vinyl in my Plus 2. The dirt is right in the grain, will not come off with anything less than Muck-Off which I think is too aggressive.
Are there any other proprietary products that are particularly good for this purpose? I don't really want to spend an afternoon endlessly scrubbing!

There is a strange product which we have tried recently.
White Eraser Sponge pads. The key word seems to be Eraser
They seem highly unlikely to be any good and you can find them in the pound shops.
They are just used damp and gradually seem to disappear in use.
It cleaned the ingrained dirt on my Volvo better than anything I have tried before. Worked well on the leather and also on the hard plastic, steering wheel, doors etc.

Before spending on auto-glym expensive type products, I always try good old washing powder with warm water. When you see the crap and oil it takes out of your overalls, it's always worth a try

Back in the day you used to be able to get this orange gloop vinyl cleaner in a glass bottle at the local car accessory shop (remember those!?)
I can't recall the name or whether you can still get it but it worked very well I seem to recall. Might have been a Carplan product?

When I got my car the headlining was heavily stained (smoking?). I found the powder "oxi" stain removers did a good job (vanish oxi action, wizz oxi ultra, etc.). Mix up with warm water until it starts to froth and apply with a sponge. For difficult areas use a scrubbing brush.

Ground in dirt is a particulate stain; these are best removed by chemicals called builders (see Finish)Can't find any reference to Finish in the document. Maybe Finish dishwasher cleaner (also made by Reckitt Benckiser)?
