'71 Sprint Bracket - Purpose unknown

Greetings People
Can someone help? Here is a photo of a bracket from my parts inventory, i'm trying to identify it, its gotta go somewhere, it was removed decades ago.

I think that's the bracket that sits under the edge of the dash that the bonnet pull handle passes through. The two little holes are for mounting the switch that operates the hazards (switch exactly the same as the alarm switch in the glovebox which is crap and falls apart!).

Hmmm, my bonnet pull is actually located in the dashboard, and the Hazard light switch is a rocker in the dashboard. Stil, it is a Lotus :?

Sounds like you have a later dash then. Suspect you have a column mounted ignition rather than in dash?

Anyway you should get a few quid for the bracket.

I think that's the ignition key/steering lock bracket.
