Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a pair of black door trim finishers for my early Elan. Anyone have a pair for sale? The fiberglass ones I bought from Kelvedon do not fit, so I'm on the hunt for originals. The photo's below shows the piece:

Hi Kurt, I had a funny feeling they would be tough to find. I could probably make the ones from Kelvedon work if I cut them apart, but I didn't want to do that until I explored the market for what was available. I'm going to search for a while and then take my saw out

Just in case I'm not approaching this correctly, here is a photo of my door where the Door Trim Finisher goes and two photo's of one of the Trim Finishers. They don't fit as they are both too high and the bottom should not have a lip on it as it hits the fiberglass purtrusion on the inside of the door.
Anyone have some insights?

After a bunch of research (for some reason Door Trim Finishers are not a big topic) I realized my fiberglass versions needed some cutting of excess material to fit on the door. Well, that did the trick (cutting a big notch on the base) and it fits on the door but does not line up with the crashpad.
Can anyone show me a photo of this from an original Elan S1 or S2?

There are a few photos of the part here:

including this one showing the alignment with the crash pad:

Glen, those match the originals fairly close. You might want to trim a bit more off the underside ledge on the top tab. The not lining up issue is with the dash pad I think. I know my original has shrunk so that it would fit in a similiar fashion. Unfortunately, other problems with my dash pad make it pretty much unusable so I would gladly take yours off your hands!

Paddy, I had spent a lot of time looking at the photos on type26 register and saw how nicely they line up, which raised my question on others.
Kurt, my dash pad is in perfect condition so I'm perplexed as to why the door finishers don't line up.
I will hunt for OEM pieces......

I'll take a photo of mine and post it here; I can't get to it right now. In my case the crash pad has shrunk slightly so there is a gap to to bottom, but the lateral alignment is reasonable. Comparing visually with your photos I would say that the trim part looks about right, and it's the crash pad that is sitting too far away from the windscreen frame.
