Wooden "floor" for Elan trunk (boot)

PostPost by: wthode » Sat Mar 11, 2017 3:50 pm

My '65 Elan came to me without the wooden "floor" in the trunk that covers the spare tire and fuel tank. Does anyone have a simple way to create such a thing, or are any available?

Easy enough to make a pattern out of card and cut it out of ply

The sheets of light cardboard Costco uses between the packages of paper towels, etc., make great template material. I stuff a couple of heavy duty rubber bands in my pocket when I need more, and roll up several sheets and secure them with the rubber bands. Never had a problem at the check out counter. They seem to treat them like the cardboard boxes the offer to pack you groceries.
