I have taken the doors of my DHC Elan and there is a little weather seal fixed to the aperture were the front of the door closes against. ? is this original? I haven?t been able to find a supplier, so will check a seal supplier and get something close to size.

I believe they are original as they are on DHCs as well. Can't comment on material or size I'm afraid

They are available maybe it's Mattys website I've seen them on. Upper front door seal or similar is the description.

They are called Secondary door seals; Ms. Miller has them in stock.

I use a standard L section here from Baines. You can buy metres of the stuff for what you'd pay for two ready cut pieces!!! Take care removing the aluminium strip that holds it on though. I think its purpose is to route drips away from the interior of the car rather than to seal, but I might be wrong. I'm sure others on here know the true purpose.

So glad you called her 'Ms' and not Mrs... A lot of people have been trying to forget Mrs Miller

She performed for troops in Vietnam, which was just cruel, how bad could your life get?

Listen at your own peril.

Unfortunately, it appears that the new seal isn't exactly as original. I have this job to look forward to yet.

ElanDNA, can you elaborate on exactly what material you used??
