Hood Tightness

I had a new Everflex hood professionally fitted to my S4 this summer. When fitted in the warm weather the hood was certainly free of any creases and fairly tight. Now the colder weather has arrived I had trouble refitting it to the car and had to use a blow heater inside to get the material loose enough to be able to move the rear tensioner frame hoop in to position. Now that it has cooled down to outside temperature it is as tight as a drum. Is this normal or could it put too much stress on the windscreen surround and the tenax fasteners? I was wondering if there is any way of trying to stretch the Everflex slightly to release some of the tension??

Yes the hood shrinks in cold weather. Normal. It will stretch with age.
