S3 Door Lock not working

PostPost by: Galwaylotus » Wed Oct 19, 2016 11:33 am

The passenger side door lock on my S3 SE FHC won't stay locked! For a while it would only lock by using the inside opener lever but now not even that works. I took off the lock cover and watched while turning the key. The lock plate moves as it should but apparently not quite far enough to stay in the locked position so when I turn the key back to centre to remove it the door is unlocked. Has anyone experienced this and is there a simple fix (other than replacing the lock)? I looked in the archives but didn't see anything for this issue. Thanks, folks.

Have you checked the position of the child lock to see if that is interfering?

It is by the gear shaped catch in case you were wondering!

I wasn't aware of there being one! I'll look at it later when I can get back to the car. Thanks.
