I recently crashed my +2 and really mangled my front bumper (never mind the fibreglass). Of course I have discovered that they are next to unobtainable, but I was heartened to discover that Anglia 105E front bumpers are the same. Then I came across Harrington and was even more delighted to find the Anglia bumper available and for a decent price. Stainless steel really works well for me, as I live in a rather humid coastal environment.
But then I came across the various postings here going back to 2008 I think, and became wary. I've discussed this with Harrington over the last couple of days and this was their response:
"I am afraid that we currently do not supply bumpers for Lotus Elan +2. The reason is that one of our customers had an issue with none [their wording] fitting these bumpers a while ago. It seems that the original bumpers we used as pattern for reproduction were not perfect, although the specialist that provided us with these patterns assured us they are. We therefore stopped the sale of these bumpers and also decided not to produce them in the future.
However, some of our customers confirmed that front bumper for the Ford Anglia 105E is exactly the same as for the Lotus Elan +2."
Has anyone had any recent positive experience of these Anglia bumpers?

Posted: Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:34 pmFYI: The same bumper is used on Lotus Europa. As they significantly more common than +2 in the US its worth checking to see if you can find a bumper for an Europa instead.
