Fixing LOTUS bootlid letters - measurements

PostPost by: dunclentdr » Thu Jan 01, 2015 9:20 pm

I need to fix boot letters on my 1967 Plus 2 and will be holding in place with silicone sealant (as per advice in early discussions).

There are currently no hole in the boot so I do not know where to fix each letter - can anyone please post measurements of how far each letter is from the left edge of the bootlid?

Thanks

David I had the same problem.
I had a green over white s4 with no lettering on the boot. Paul Matty has it for sale at the moment ant the lettering is still absent. Im sure I just googled for the information.
Sue miller has the letters if you need them
all the best

I'm sure I've done this before but can't find it in the search function,so...

If your boot lid is 1080 mm wide,my letters centre at L 100mm,O 323mm,T 545mm,U 768mm,S 990mm

and left hand edge of letters are at L 95mm,O 317mm,T 538mm, U 762mm, S 983mm

and to finish it off their base line is 22 to 23mm from the lower edge of the boot/trunk lid.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the OP asked for a plus 2? John - I thought you had a S4?

Richard
Correct me if I'm wrong but in the log book it states 50/0813 and since 1998 it does appear to have an extra couple of seats ( albeit rather small ) to the rear.....

Find a good photo of the rear of a Plus 2 then with a pair of school calipers and a ruler, determine the distances ?

David, it looks like John's measurements will be sufficient for you.

If it proves unworkable for some reason, let me know, as I have my car's boot lid off and stripped and could perhaps work out a template.

My boot (Elan S4) is 40" at the top and 37 1/2" at the lip. So I'm hoping someone else out there with this ...
