Headlamp Vacuum Pod Brackets

PostPost by: AHM » Wed Mar 20, 2013 4:06 pm

Hi All,

How are the vacuum pods mounted to the wheel arch? (UK elan S4)

Mine seem to be held on by a bent piece of tin which has been bent out of shape!

Thanks

Does anyone have a dimension for the hole for the stud on the bottom of the pod?

I have the hole for the bracket shown, but have glassed over the hole for the stud.

Thanks,
AHM

Well I would hate to be responsible for you drilling holes in the wrong place but here's where mine are.......
Measure inboard 100mm from the centre line of the indicator lamp then 200mm down around the curve of the body from the lower edge of the bumper recess.

My S2 is similar. Can you shine a torch through the area to locate the original hole?

I've been successful with a light for other holes.

The problem here is that they have been ground, filled, and glassed out of existence.
