Stripping the Veneer from the Dash.

I bought the veneer off eBay. Supplied by a chap in Ireland.

Just fitted the labels, bought from SJS. They’re extremely adhesive and I doubt they’ll come off easily as trying to remove a wonky one is difficult. I won’t be putting top coat over the labels, so effectively it’s finished.

Mike,
I have two identical veneer sheets remaining. PM me if you’re interested.

Being the oddball that I am, I used one big sheet which means no symmetry in the grain patterns. And I love it!

I initially completed a re-veneer of the dash in Aug 2012, see page 3.

Back then it was difficult to obtain the correct dash labels, so I fitted the dash to get on to complete the refurb and get to drive the car. :D

It was July 2018 before I got the labels, from a forum member in Canada.

Finally this year I got round to putting the labels on the dash and another few coats of Rustins 2 pack clear plastic coating.
After the first coat, regrettably there was a delay due to both the dog and the wife, with the wife having the stronger bite. I was not allowed to do any further work on the dash in the small bedroom because of the smell.
So I had to finish it in the garage, when the weather improved.

Sorry about the photos, I tried hard not to get any reflections, but you will see some odd colourations and markings which are not really on the dash.

But they do illustrate the labels. :D
