Door facings panel/cards - refurbishment service?

PostPost by: tcsoar » Thu May 17, 2012 6:18 am

When I first spoke to Adrian he reckoned two weeks, although it took me about two weeks to get the metal channels to him as they needed to be repaired. By this time it meant they got to him just before Easter but still only took three weeks. While speaking to him he did mention that he does do a variety of work from small pieces upto complete interiors on larger cars, so I think it just depends on his work load.

As Jono has said, you may need to join a queue now as a few people on here have said they will be contacting him :D .

Just had a look and found he as a website, http://www.cartrimmers.co.uk/

My door cards came back from Adrian over the weekend and they are superb - I am very happy :D

He even manages to 'melt' the longitudinal creases into the basket weave panel, presumably using a special tool.

Lovely guy and a great service.

Hi

I am in the process of re-trimming mine.

I have 2 sets and both have 1/4 thick foam under the smooth top vinyl, no foam under the basket weave and both differ on under the carpet section. My question is has Adrian put foam under the carpet section or not?

Thanks

Mine have got foam under the vinyl and basket weave but not under the carpet which appears to be glued directly to the door card.

It would seem that the foam under the vinyl to the door capping area is thicker than that under the basket weave.

Thanks Jon.

The basket weave sections appear to have the foam encapsulated. The plain top panel has foam glued to the door card.

I will leave the carpeted parts with no foam.

Thanks

Maybe an inquiry to Aldridge Trimming?

The Elan S4 door cards they produce look good.
