Ok -

I "see" your instructions and raise you with words "strongly recommend" plus one installation Jpeg with how they want the saddle brackets welded up.

I am thinking your kit is older than mine ?

Hi Paul

Thanks for this.I follow it alright, but I can't quite read the guidance for the section under the pedals attaching to the chassis. Any chance of repeating it in type?

When I fitted my TTR ROB with side bars, I couldn?t get the side bars through the sill with the brackets on. So I welded a ring behind the bracket and an plate in front of it so that the bracket won?t slide on the side bar, on the other end of the side bar I fitted a bolt through the bracket and the side bar so it couldn?t slide out. Had to cut off about 1cm of the gas pedal so it could pass the front cross bar.
I had TTR ad a ?? UNF threaded bushing to the ROB so that I could fit the Spider head rests, I think you can order it that way now.

That is a really useful set of photos. The instructions for the TTR roolbar say to cut a hole in the rear wheel arch. Did you have to do that? Your photos suggest not. I would like to fit one but I am not keen in cutting holes in the bodywork.

Hi Mike

When I fitted the spyder product to my S3 it was very easy cutting a hole (2" diam) in the rear wheel arch using a drill and a plasterboard short saw. Afterwards it took 15 mins just to fibreglass (fastglass from the local auto shop) both sides of the hole. When it had cured I just used an aerosol spray to finish and after a drive, you wouldn't know that a hole had been cut. And I'm no expert like many of the members of this forum.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over the prospect of having to do this.

Yes I had to cut a rectangular hole in the wheel arch using drill and hacksaw, bat as Jim says it wasn?t difficult to glass in afterwards, and when it is painted black and have driven a couple of times you wont notice it.

Hi everyone

Just fitted the TT rolloverbar today and I'm very pleased with the result. There's at least 1" clearance from the hood and it looks much better than the Spyder product. It also includes half inch UNF holes for fitting the Spyder head restraint pads. Will also be fitting the sill bars shortly.

Thanks everyone for your previous help on choice of product and advice on fitting.

Cheers

Jim

I know I am quoting an old post, but what size are those wheels?

It depends of wich car you mean, but John's blue S4 are 14x6", if I remember correctly.
I also asked him when I saw his pictures.

Yes 14" x 6J fitted with 175/60 x 14" tyres.

I did try 185/60 x 14" tyres which looked great but the rear wheel arches were just to tight with the suspension loaded.

Cheers

OK, thanks. They suit the car much better than the original 13s, IMO.
