Pedalbox

PostPost by: martinbrowning » Sat Aug 02, 2008 10:54 am

Good morning,
Currently tidying/restoring the engine bay of my 72 S130. Bay completely stripped and ready for paint etc. Many years ago I questioned the pedal box arrangement and handbrake mounting - on MY car the handbrake fixing bolts just went through the fibre into the engine bay with obvious elongation of the holes over time. (Couldn't believe that Lotus had designed it that way and made up a couple of strengthening plates).
This morning however, looking through a recent string, the Dummy lamp shone at full brilliance - my car is missing mounting brackets which would appear to be fixed inside the upper footwell and support the handbrake mounting bolts.
Anybody got spare mounting brackets, or even a complete pedal box with them attached?
I haven't tried the usual sources yet - Sue Millar,PM,EBay etc.

Off to extinguish the lamp.......

Martin,

Reinforcing the steering column/pedal box has come up a few times, I've put details of my mods on the forum, can't seem to find the best links, but have a look here:

I've attached a photo and drawing.
