Chrome platers London & SE

PostPost by: NYK » Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:17 pm

I live in Kent and struggled to find a good plating company, there is an outfit in Ashford who actually don’t do the plating itself but farm it out to companies but won’t tell you who, they seem not to have a good reputation. In the end I went to this company: Colonnade Metal Finishers, Wembley, Middx HA9 0LB. They did my window frames, rear bumper and some other bits, I picked the items up the other week and am pleased with the finish, time will tell how good it is but they do seem to get good reviews on other classic car sites. I pass this information on as it might be useful to others wanting to shortlist platers.

There have been some threads recently on this.
I believe Derby Plating was very well thought of.
Personally, if it were mine, I wouldn't care how far they had to go to get the best service. Do it well, do it once.

I would concur - geographical location would never be a factor for me in getting the right service be that machining, plating or anything else.

I've always used Derby even though they are a 180 miles from me - they just do it right everytime and you are never disappointed.

I have used collonade too. Was always worried that I dropped off all the bits, didn't get any paperwork... All turned out good though. Did a good job of beating and chroming a dented TVR bumper.
