My wing mirrors are useless

Hi everyone, I just got my +2 today and I am doing some basic snagging.
First point on the agenda is wing mirror adjustment, as in there doesn’t seem to be much, am I missing something?
The driver’s side visibility is poor but the passenger’s side only seems to serve as a door decoration. I am quite short and I don’t think that is helping but I’m hoping I’ve simply misunderstood how they work.
I also seem to be missing full beam (or I guess I could have full beam but be missing dipped), I can hear the relay so I assume that is an easy fix, I can’t imagine the headlights are up to much anyway. For info pulling stork is popping the lights but they are not on. When activating lights from dash they seem to come up off and pushing stork down turns them on.
I attach an image in case they are non-standard (but I have seen on other +2s)

I understand that all wing mirrors are non-factory and dealer fit or previous owner fit.
I've not had mirrors on mine since I've had it and don't miss them at all. I'm young and flexible so shoulder checks are no issue

Wing mirrors back in the day were mounted on the wings (fenders to foreigners ) and they were perfect for the application.
Door mirrors, not so much but with much tweaking they are eventually kinda okay.

Positioned correctly they work , it's just a faff getting them in the right position , especially the passenger side...

There is an easier way. I need that passenger side mirror for overtaking in countries that do not drive on the correct side of the road. To avoid having to re-drill the door I just drilled a second hole in the mirror that angles it as shown below. Fiddly to refit to get the guide pin in the right position but it works well. D

I have similar bullet mirrors on my +2 doors in the same place.
For the drivers side on the right it should be possible to adjust the mirror correctly. I had problems with the passenger mirror so I fitted a 2 inch diameter convex stick-on mirror over the original. Objects are further away but you have a great field of view. I just had to get used to it.

I don't use passenger side, what for? Visibity is good in a plus 2. Drive it like a motorbike, visual check before you manouver to be sure.

I think I understand now, when you depress the right hand pedal, all concerns about wing mirrors disappear. Sorry guys, I’m new to all this, my last ‘classic’ car was a 74 Land Rover where the wing mirrors were great but the right pedal began a gentle series of events that ended up at 40mph.
