I recently replaced the fuel pump on my +2 (LHD). It was a terrible job. Getting to the securing bolts was a horrific job. When I posted a message requesting suggestions to make the task easier, the best method was to create an access panel in the fiberglass "trans tunnel".
Has anyone done this? Photos ? I could use some advice. Thanks.

Bob, after removing the airbox & rear Carb changing the mechanical fuel pump shouldn't be too bad.
How often do you plan on removing it? I would have thought that it only needs rebuilding every 60,000 miles or 20 years .

I have the car on jack stands and I am in a creative mood.
For the pump replacement, I did remove the airbox but I do not believe I removed the rear carburetor. My memory is non existent. I will have a look and make a decision.
The clearance between the footwell and the pump is the issue. The removal of the rear carburetor may be of little assistance.
I am replacing the left side top ball joint. Weather is much better here. Once all service is completed, I will take it for a drive. Of course if the engine will start.
