Hi Mark,

Try Coverdale Carpets (coverdalecarpets.co.uk or 01942 255535).

They do three types of carpet material from cheap nylon upto wool. I think their prices were from ?130 to ?220ish, but don't quote me.

I recently fitted one of their mid priced sets which looks good once fitted. Some cutting is needed to get an exact fit, but I would expect that anyway.

They do a set for the boot at ?130, but I think its a bit over priced. Better to but 2 square meters of carpet off them and do it your self for ?30.

I believe SJ Sportscars do a carpet set, but its quite a bit more pricey.

I had my carpets fitted by a trimmer and he charged about ?100 for supplying and fitting the carpet (+plau a bit for new underfelt) I had a choice of carpet and went for a wool nylon mix.

Very pleased with the result

Andy,
Sounds good. Who was it and did he bind the edges of the mats? Oh and what's "+plau"?

It was a local trimmer based just outside Redditch.

Trim Shop
Unit 1, Weights Farm, Weights Lane, Redditch, Worcestershire B97 6RG
Tel: 01527 598488

He did bind the edges of the mats and the +plau was meant to read "plus" I can't remember how much extra he charged for the felt but it was reasonable.

Thanks Andy,
I'll definitely look at a specialist before buying stock carpets now.

Hi,

This thread's been going on for quite a while and after getting rain inside my Lotus Elan +2 Zetec Spyder, I need to renew the carpets and underfelt.

The Coverdale kit (https://www.carcarpets.co.uk/lotus-elan ... 1799-p.asp) has been mentioned previously on here.

Is this still a good option and is anything different with regards the tunnel in the Zetec Spyder?

Also, any recommendations for the underfelt?

Many thanks,

Nick

Nick, I purchased a complete underfelt set from Sue Miller, although it was a few years ago. I appreciated getting a cut set as mine were too far gone to use as templates.
