Yes. I came across my dream long hood 911 hot rod and ended up with one too few garage spots. My friend is selling it on my behalf.

True, I like the 15” tyre option as 13’s 14’s even 15 and 16 are getting rare from what my tyre guy says. Apparently new cars are really only going to be 18-20”
I tried to get some new tyres for our 91 Westfalia, nothing good. Ended up with some 15” Mercedes wheels with BFG KO

DSCF0394.JPG and
It seems such a shame to spend all that time and money, for it to end up looking as ugly as that.
The other problem it produces is that it is now too far away from normal. to make it practical to repair.
If you want a car that looks like that why would you buy an Elan.
Just my opinion of course. If you own it, you can do it. Each to his own.

There truly is something to be said for S1, S2 and S3, vs S4 wheel arches.
For me, having to change the wheel arches back to pre S4 would not a deal breaker. Having 4 bolt hubs is a benefit probably.
Though I have never owned a 911, there is not another car than an elan for me.

The car had sat in disrepair in storage for two decades when the co-owner of Mid Atlantic Caterham bought it for a nominal sum in 1995 (these cars were dirt cheap at the time). The car was restored with the intention of turning it into an HPDE/track car so his goal was to stuff as much rubber underneath it he could, so he used the flares designed by George Eby. I think he ran into project burnout and it never made it to the track as he ended up selling it shortly after completion of the restoration.

Thanks for the explanation.
I suppose that is fair enough. For racing the last thing that matters is what it looks like.
I just hope someone saves it or maybe races it.

Also, a photo from the brief 24 hours the two cars were together. I'll miss the Elan. It was a riot of a car, but I am happy to be back in a 911.
