I'm always surprised to see that when repainting the "elan sprint" sticker is often put on crooked, and the bottom lip left in color - esp. with that price claim (granted, it's a dealer, but still) doesnot motivate me to look much further I must say

I was NEVER a fan of the Sprint paint scheme so I find the rendering as shown above to be better.
I would even remove the Spring thingie...

The Sprint Stripe/Decal looks ok to me or at least it is the same as on my Sprint.
Maybe on my sprint it's wrong also

It is also a genuine factory five speed, a Sprint/5. The majority of the small number of factory Sprint/5s went to Europe.
The seller is not a dealer. Raphael in Spain touched base with me in January 2012, shortly after he had bought the car. He has owned it for the last ten years.
Susan Miller has a flyer on the fixing of the Sprint side decal, which I have posted before. Here it is again for your info.

Thanks Tim,
i just read the info on Sprint Decal. It says the width of the Decal/sidewinder is 3" (76mm) which is a shock for me because i just measured the Decal/sidewinder on my Sprint which was fitted 21 Years ago by me when the car was Painted. The Decal i fitted was from SJSportscars 21 Years ago and it's width is 1.89" (48mm) which is much narrower than the Mick Miller Doc/Instructions.
Tim from your knowledge on Sprints can you confirm the Width should be 3" (76mm) please.
Thanks in advance

Quote by Elanfan 2010 on forum:
"I wish you luck in trying to do it but in all practicality I reckon you will be fighting a losing battle. I guess there were reasons why Mr C went with a 2 inch wide stripe.
Happy to be proved wrong - Good luck with it
Steve".
Just found this in past post, hope it's ok to take your quote Steve.
So on my Sprint it seems about right 1.9" instead of 2".
So what's right 2" or 3" Width for the Decal/Sidewinder

It would look hugely better with no stickers - what is your fascination with such a tacky addition - and the lower moulding painted black. So there................

The actual seller may not be a dealer, but this is how it looks when one clicks (says dealer in the address) :

Alan,
The stripe is 2 inches wide. I’ve sold at least 50 sets (probably quite a few more) of these. There’s quite a long thread on them on here. I’ve even supplied one of the main dealers with stock of them. Not a single complaint.

For me the Gold looks ok on Red, Orange or Yellow but Silver works better on White....... i thought about changing mine but the purist in me says no thats how it left the factory.
100% looks better with no side decals, kicked my self almost instantly after putting them on and standing back. Drives me mad that the bumpers are a slightly different shade of gold and it's a royal pain to match well.
The car for sale reminds me of the pink Sprint that was restored by Paul matty and sold in the Netherlands a while back, when i saw it was LHD i thought it was the same car but guess not (Black sill)

White Sprints are getting almost common now
