https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-lotus-elan-s4-8/

Offered by Copley Motors in Boston.

You may remember this car offered by Fantasy Junction (California) on BAT in 2016, RNM at $35,000.

The new owner, who, presumably paid more than $35,000 for the car, asserts another $65,000 in restoration following the purchase, and presents invoices dating from 10/2017 through 4/2019 in support. A quick review was fascinating.

Could this truly be the most “expensive” Elan S4 in the world right now? $100,000+!

Someone got taken to the cleaners on that one. $2000 for a yearly service? $26K for an engine rebuild? Either that or HIGHLY inflated for the purpose of the auction.

Continuing on that theme.... $16.70 for an Oil pump gasket that's $5 from RDent, or £0.75 from QED. Then there's $140 an hour to fit it!!!
