Paint....

Not knowing the mixing of modern paints I ordered too much paint. I think I have plenty to paint another type 26 in Medici blue. It is base coat 2K and was made up after matching a small bit on my original Medici S1. Got a pile of money in it so would like a little back. Let me know if you are interested.

Edit: Sorry,, it just dawned on me that this is the for sale forum and not a discussion thread,
Please ignore my ramblings about how much l pay for paint, it isn’t relevant to the original post.

it's about 10x cheaper than what I get (Standox of late)... either I got Brexit wrong or we don't paint with the same goop.

How much did you buy and how much did it cost?
2k lacquer required to finish, maybe a litre….
Well, I have MUCH more invested in this paint and will keep it for anything like your quote. Remember, too, that it is custom mixed. I bought a gallon since my last paint experience would have needed that much. Didn't realize how much reducer and hardener were to be added. Have very close to two quarts left.

Getting close to painting my elan s4 been a painter all my working life I pay £56+ for 1 litre of epoxy primer ( Trade price ) if you add activator and thinners ! Will need more than 1 litre, if your going for perfection you need polyester and your high builds then colour. Your near the. £ 1K mark plus your ancillarys PPG. Len

I have very near that in this paint job as well. Not counting labor. Ah, the days when a enamel or lacquer paint with a little appropriate thinner was all that was needed.
Need Gary Anderson back.....he'd figure out a cost effective scheme.

Hi
I did my +2 about a year ago (11mts) and it cost me about £800 in paint and sundries, that was epoxy primer, and 2k topcoat, lacquer etc. Trade prices.
All the best

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Very nice colour.
For my Sprint i bought too much also but if i ever have a spray in to do it will be perfect match. I bought 4 Ltrs Lagoon Blue, 2 ltrs Cirrus White, 2 ltrs Talbot Aztec Gold for 700 Euros . My painter supplied the Clear coat/Varnish/Lacquer.
I suggest you don't put a Cover over your Car. Or at least for a month or two.

And I thank you for your help, George. Went just a tad lighter than your sample.
